In celebration of the opening of the AXIS library, AXIS has started a new October tradition – the Hat Parade. 🎉 🎉 🎉Last Friday, all students, from ECC to Grade 9, were invited to create a hat with the relevant elements and characters of a book. This book could be their best-loved books, the impressive books recently, or an early favorite book from years ago.During the week, students might go to the library to find their inspiration, talk to the peers about their ideas, and draw a design draft for their performing hats. They learned how to turn an idea into a piece of work through this event, when thinking, creating, and assembling. AXIS is always seeking for providing our students with the opportunities to develop their skills in creativity, thinking, social relationships, and decision-making.
The Hat Parade was held under the “A Year to Be Courageous” platform. The school gate was open for parents to watch this lovely hat show in front of the school. Students, with their wonderful designs, lined up by different grade levels and got ready for the parade. Everyone, including teachers, staff members, and parents, was so excited for the parade.
At 2:55pm, the parade started. Students followed the parade route taking two loops one by one from the platform, down to the stairs, and to the designated point right behind the school gate. Kids waved their hands, presented the hats, and said “hi” 👋 👋 👋to their parents. All the kids, at that moment, were absolutely the BIG STARS at AXIS! 🌟🌟🌟
After the parade, school also provided the tasty desserts which had the cute shapes and festive decorations. Kids all loved the cookies and sweets! 🍪🍪
It was definitely a great time to see our students playing, laughing, and having fun. We were together and created a NEW annual book-themed tradition at AXIS – the Hat Parade. Let’s look forward to seeing more and more students and their creations in the next Hat Parade! 🎩
