They even conducted a Shark Tank-style presentation for our school leadership team\, where they confidently pitched their business ideas\, explained their thought processes\, and made persuasive calls to action. \nAt the market\, they offered delicious food\, refreshing drinks\, engaging toys\, and fun games— all made possible by our talented young entrepreneurs. This market holds great significance for our students. It was a student-driven project that evolved from an idea into reality. We witnessed impressive academic and personal growth\, as they transformed from Grade 5 students into budding young entrepreneurs\, exhibiting confidence\, focus\, and clear communication in their business endeavors. Together\, they worked through a rigorous program that combined operational decision‑making\, trading challenges\, and multiple formal roadshow presentations. The schedule was demanding and required sustained focus\, strategic thinking\, and adaptability. They were ultimately honored with a Rising Star Award in recognition of their effort\, growth\, and competitive spirit. \nMeanwhile\, Amy’s team delivered an outstanding performance\, winning the Viral Impact Pioneer Award for their creative communication and market impact. \nThroughout the competition\, students demonstrated resilience and professionalism. The event was divided into two sections: the CNY Fair and the CNY Performance. At 8:30 am\, the Lion Dance opened the CNY festivities\, creating a lively atmosphere for the fair. \nThe fair was split into two sub-sections: the Hometown Hall of Minnan and the Northern Cultural Street\, where students could explore and experience various CNY traditions and customs. In the Hometown Hall of Minnan\, students learned local accents\, made special rice cakes\, tried their hand at rubbing art\, and sang in the Minnan KTV. In Northern Cultural Street\, they participated in traditional CNY games\, watched sugar painting demonstrations\, experienced paper cutting\, took family photos\, and enjoyed special festive foods. \nAfter the fair\, students and teachers made their way to the auditorium for the CNY performance. Students showcased their talents on stage\, presenting beautiful acts that highlighted CNY elements. They played instruments\, sang\, and danced together\, bringing the festive spirit of CNY to life and receiving thunderous applause from the audience. \nDuring the week\, secondary students engaged in various hands-on activities during advisory time. They wrote their own CNY scrolls\, created red packets for the Year of the Horse\, and made and cooked glutinous rice balls and dumplings. They also competed with their artwork and played games to celebrate CNY. DESCRIPTION:History was made in AXIS Sports last weekend by our U19 Football and U15 Volleyball teams! \nThe U19 Football team traveled to Dongguan\, Guangdong\, to participate in a Fujian vs. Guangdong Invitational Tournament hosted by AXIS this past Saturday. Competing outside of Xiamen was a great experience for the boys. The games were extremely competitive\, but in the end\, AXIS brought home second place\, marking the school’s first-ever high school team sports trophy! Team captain Alhareth scored a total of four goals on the day of the competition. \nThe following day\, more history was made back in Xiamen! \nThe U15 Volleyball teams\, both boys and girls\, showed the local FISSCA league what a year of hard work and dedication from players and coaches truly looks like. The transformation in both AXIS teams was inspiring. The boys fought valiantly in their tournament\, finishing in third place\, while the girls continued their historic run by defeating two other strong international schools. Then\, our girls ultimately earned a third-place finish of their own. SUMMARY:A Week to Fall in Love with Reading AXIS图书周精彩回顾
DESCRIPTION:During the first week of March\, it was AXIS Book Week once again! Students had a great time and enjoyed reading throughout the week. Our Library Department prepared a variety of engaging activities for students\, including a Lucky Draw\, Reading Passport program\, Secondary Read for Primary\, Book & BBQ Night\, Book Fair\, and Dress-up Day. \n1️⃣ Reading Passport \nOn Monday\, the Reading Passport Program was designed to monitor and boost student engagement\, celebrate achievements\, and provide recognition for reading. Students earned a stamp upon completing each activity ✌️ \n2️⃣ Secondary Read for Primary \nOn Tuesday\, our AXIS big brothers and sisters from the secondary school visited primary classrooms to read to the younger students.  Secondary students selected books and interacted with the primary students by asking and answering questions. This interaction is a cherished AXIS tradition during every Book Week\, and we all love it! \n3️⃣ Book & BBQ Night \nOn Wednesday night\, parents who signed up for “Book & BBQ Night” came to campus to enjoy delicious food with their children. After dinner\, parents accompanied students to the library for a cozy reading session together. To cap off the evening\, the school choir performed a special Candlelit Choir Performance in the library\, providing a reflective and magical conclusion to the night. \n4️⃣ Book Fair \nFrom Wednesday to Friday\, a book fair was hosted on campus by vendors\, allowing students to browse and shop for various titles. It was a fantastic opportunity for students to explore different books\, including fiction\, non-fiction\, picture books\, and magazines. \n5️⃣ Dress-up Day & Assembly \nOn Friday\, students and teachers dressed up and gathered in the auditorium to celebrate their achievements throughout Book Week. The Library Department also prepared a special surprise: a library bag for students to keep their borrowed books organized and ensure they are returned on time. \nAt AXIS\, we are committed to creating numerous activities and opportunities for students to read\, encouraging them to engage with peers and families. We believe that reading should be a joy for everyone. DESCRIPTION:Last week\, our Middle School and Pre-AP Art students visited the TCCA Art Center to explore a contemporary typography exhibition that celebrates the visual power of letters\, symbols\, and words. \nDuring the first two morning periods\, students and teachers immersed themselves in a wide range of presentation formats\, including large-scale installations\, posters\, sculptural works\, and interactive pieces that highlighted how typography can function as both graphic design and a creative art form. The exhibition encouraged students to think about language not just as something we read\, but as something we can see\, feel\, and experience in space. \nAfter taking time to observe and discuss the artworks\, students spent thirty minutes sketching and responding to the pieces that captured their attention. This quiet drawing time allowed them to notice small details in composition\, texture\, and layout\, connecting ideas from the gallery back to the skills they are developing as individual artists. \nThis trip links directly to our current art curriculum. Middle School art students are beginning a project on making and binding zines\, pop-up and interactive books\, and potentially digital publications—all of which require thoughtful use of typography\, page layout\, and the sequencing of images and text. Pre-AP Art students are starting Unit 4\, “Creating Within Constraints\,” where typography becomes a rich yet focused prompt: although type can feel limitless in its visual possibilities\, it is still grounded in the structure of words\, letters\, and meaning\, providing a framework for creative problem-solving. \n🌟🌟🌟 \nHere are some insightful reflections from a few of our art students: \nG9 Student A – “Art is not limited to painting; it can be presented in any form.” \nG8 Student B – “The TCCA was a very unique experience\, especially the blue light flashlight. DESCRIPTION:Secondary Student Council (STUCO) members Gill\, Nick\, Adrian\, and Jacob recently represented AXIS at the first-ever ACAMIS Student Leadership Conference in Shenzhen. Alongside student leaders from international schools across the region\, they participated in collaborative workshops and discussions focused on student voice\, innovation\, and leadership. Our students shared ideas\, received feedback on their projects\, and explored how student-led initiatives can create positive change within their school communities. DESCRIPTION:This year\, our high school students traveled to Jeju Island\, Korea\, for their Week Without Walls (WWW) trip. They created wonderful memories alongside their classmates and teachers. \n  \nHere’s what our students had to say: \n  \n“Our trip to Jeju Island was truly memorable\, especially the coastal hike and the visit to the stone museum. The hike was beautiful\, with the ocean right beside us and the sound of the waves making it feel calm and refreshing. Another memorable experience was the stone museum\, where we learned about Jeju’s history and how volcanic stones have played an important role in the island’s culture and daily life. Both experiences helped us understand Jeju not just as a tourist spot\, but as a place with deep history and natural beauty.”  (From Sisi\, our HS student) \n  \n“We just returned from the adventure of a lifetime—a learning trip to Jeju Island\, Korea\, where nature was the teacher. Both trophies mark the first in AXIS volleyball history! \n  \n⚽️ Football Teams – [Apr 30\, 2026] \nU9 Football Team – [Apr 30\, 2026] \nThe AXIS U9 Football Team competed in the XIS U9 Football Invitationals this past weekend\, continuing the run of success our football teams have enjoyed this year! The U9 team’s second-place finish marks the fourth silver medal earned by AXIS football teams in 2026. \nThe team competed valiantly and finished group play as the number one seed heading into the knockout rounds. In the semifinals\, the young Dragons defeated XIS convincingly on their way to facing OCAC in the championship. Our Mixed Doubles team finished in the Top 8 alongside our Women’s Doubles team. Our Women’s Singles player also had great results in her matches\, and our Men’s Singles and Doubles athletes gave it their all in every competition. \n  \nAt the end of the day\, out of a total of 27 schools\, AXIS ranked 12th! In the real world\, our students worked hard to memorize lines\, develop their talents\, and understand their roles and the story—showing that passion comes first—and consistency follows. \nOn stage\, our students were not only great performers\, but also great storytellers. \nCongratulations to everyone! DESCRIPTION:📹 Video 视频 🔗 \n2026 Innovation Exhibition 学生创新成果展 \n  \nOn April 22nd\, Earth Day\, AXIS students and teachers celebrated together on campus by presenting a fantastic Innovation Exhibition and the first AXIS Trashion Show. Students used their skills in research\, critical thinking\, and problem-solving\, and translated what they learned in class about our planet and environmental conservation into creative works. \n  \nIn Secondary STEAM classes\, students explored topics connected to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) through a learning cycle of research – design solutions – build & test – present & share. They discovered areas they were interested in\, worked in groups\, generated questions\, and solved real challenges. In the process\, they developed deeper knowledge and essential skills through thoughtful inquiry\, investigation\, and hands-on practice. \n  \nDuring Science lessons\, students tackled a variety of topics using scientific concepts such as biological structures and processes\, forces and motion and energy transfer\, renewable energy\, waste management\, and environmental conservation. They also created a 3D model of a future classroom using 3D printers\, turning their ideas into tangible outcomes. \n  \nIn Primary\, students explored art as a powerful way to express their understanding of their Unit of Inquiry (UOI). Throughout this journey\, they  drew\, painted\, and created a wide range of artworks inspired by the theme Our Planet. Their work reflected deep engagement with important topics such as how our planet changes\, natural disasters\, environmental protection\, and the diversity of biomes around the world. Through paintings\, detailed sketches\, clay models\, and imaginative dioramas\, students  translated their ideas into visual forms\, demonstrating both creativity and growing artistic skills. Each piece tells a story. \n  \nStudent works from our Fashion Design and Ceramics classes were also on display\, showcasing the outstanding creativity and hands-on skills of our students. Amazing work! These pieces reflected students’ strong imagination\, careful craftsmanship\, and willingness to explore new ideas through the learning process. \n  \nIn the afternoon\, the first AXIS Trashion Show took place in the auditorium. DESCRIPTION:On 13 May 2026\, AXIS proudly hosted the very first Dancing Under the Stars\, a memorable evening that marked a new chapter in the school’s performing arts journey. \nWhat began as a student idea soon became a reality. Our students spoke\, and we listened. Originally planned as an outdoor celebration beneath the night sky\, the evening took an unexpected turn when rain arrived just before the event. The Music Hall was transformed into a warm and magical performance space\, with hanging lights creating our very own “stars” indoors. \nStudents from ECC through High School took to the stage with enthusiasm\, courage\, and joy. The performances were filled with energy and heart\, showcasing a wide range of talents across the performing arts. DESCRIPTION:Event Recap 活动回顾 \n🔗📺📺📺  World Culture Day 拥抱多元文化 \n  \nOn May 21\, AXIS came alive with color\, joy\, and cultural celebration for the World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development. Students and staff explored cultures from around the world through engaging activities\, delicious food\, traditional clothing\, music\, art\, teamwork\, and sports. Teachers and parent volunteers also joined the celebration by setting up wonderful booths for students to visit and enjoy. \nThe event featured four main sections: food\, primary activities\, secondary activities\, and sports. Through a variety of fun games and cultural traditions\, students had the opportunity to learn about different cultures from around the world in an interactive and meaningful way. \nOne of the highlights was our special technology-enhanced photo booth\, where students could take fun check-in photos as they “traveled” to famous landmarks and destinations around the world\, including the Parthenon in Greece\, the Eiffel Tower in France\, the pyramids in Egypt\, and the African savannah. \nThrough seeing\, feeling\, playing\, and tasting\, students developed respect\, curiosity\, and global awareness. We did not only share cultures — we also shared happiness. These topics showed how students connected their personal interests with real-world issues while thinking about the future. \nDuring the exhibition\, Grade 5 students set up their booths\, prepared fun games and quizzes for visitors\, and introduced their topics\, research findings\, and actions. This was a special highlight as they stepped out of the classroom\, communicated confidently with students and teachers\, and took responsibility for their work and learning. \nGreat job\, Grade 5! DESCRIPTION:On May 25\, AXIS hosted its very first Career Day on campus. This event was open to the entire secondary school. Students participated in a variety of activities and gained new experiences\, as well as deeper insights into job searching and career pathways. \nIn the morning\, students attended a Career Panel Discussion in the Auditorium. Two professionals from different fields were invited to share their career journeys and answer students’ questions. \nAfter the panel discussion\, students moved to the gym for a Mock Job Fair. Students from Grades 6 to 12 brought their CVs and lined up for interviews. The interviewers included representatives from real companies\, along with AXIS teachers acting as mock interviewers. With a variety of positions and industries to choose from\, students had the opportunity to experience the interview process\, practice their communication skills\, and explore future career possibilities. \nIn the afternoon\, students were divided into groups based on their interests. They then visited different companies and shops they had signed up for. This was a great opportunity to explore workplace settings across various industries and observe professionals in their daily work. Even the regular company tours offered a fresh and more professional perspective this time. \nFor many students\, it was a brand-new experience—and a great moment to begin thinking about their future career pathways. \n  \n5月25日，我们在AXIS校园内举办了首届职业日（Career Day）活动。本次活动面向全体中学部学生开放。学生们参与了许多活动，收获了全新的体验，同时也更深入地了解了求职的过程，也加深了对未来职业发展道路的思考。 \n上午，学生们在礼堂参加了职业圆桌论坛。来自不同行业的两位专业人士受邀出席并与大家分享了他们的职业历程，回答学生们的提问。 \n圆桌论坛结束后，学生们前往体育馆参加模拟招聘大会。从六年级到十二年级的学生们都带上自己的简历，认真地在招聘现场排起了队，等待面试。面试官包括了来自真实企业的招聘代表，还有扮演模拟面试官的本校老师。这里有各种各样的岗位和行业供学生选择，也让他们有机会体验面试流程、练习沟通技巧，并探索未来职业选择的可能性。 \n\n\n下午，学生们根据自己的兴趣报名分组，前往不同的公司与工厂进行参观。此次活动为学生们提供了探索不同行业工作场景的机会，并能近距离观察专业人士的日常工作内容。这一次的体验之旅内容丰富，收获满满，即便是常规的企业参观，也为学生们带来了更新颖、更专业的视角。\n\n对许多学生来说，这是一次全新的体验——也是他们开始思考未来职业发展道路的良好契机。 \n

The celebration began with exciting soccer matches between AXIS teams and staff teams. Students were thrilled to play against their teachers. \nAfter the intense matches\, secondary students headed to the auditorium for the Brain Bowl.  Instead of sitting by class\, students sat by their House and cheered on their House representatives to earn more points. \nNext\, we announced the End-of-Year House Points Ranking. House Water took first place! The champion color was blue! 🔵🔵🔵 Congratulations to Water! \nIn the afternoon\, students and teachers excitedly joined the Water Fight. They had a wonderful time playing in the sunshine and moving between the pools. With everyone splashing\, running\, and laughing together in the water\, it became one of the most joyful and memorable moments of the day. \nTo keep everyone energized\, our PSA members also provided ice cream and snacks for a well-deserved break. \nWhat a busy day—full of fun\, laughter\, and unforgettable moments! 🎈🍦💦🔫🫧 \n六一儿童节快乐！6️⃣1️⃣🎉🎉🎉 \n一直以来，6月1日是学生们整个学年里最期待的一天之一。庆祝活动从早上的足球赛开始——AXIS校队对阵教师队。学生们非常激动可以和他们的老师在球场上比拼一番。 \n紧张的球赛结束，初高中生们前往大礼堂进行知识竞赛。这次，学生的座位不是按照班级划分，而是按照他们所属的学院（House）分区落座，一起为台上的学院代表们加油鼓劲，争取更多的积分。 \n随后，我们宣布了年终学院积分排名。Water学院获得了第一名！今年的冠军色是蓝色的！恭喜Water学院！ \n下午时间，学生们和老师们兴致勃勃地参加了水枪大战。他们在阳光下尽情玩耍，自由穿梭在水池之间。每个人尽情地在水中嬉闹、奔跑、一起大笑，而这些画面也成为了这天最快乐、最难忘的时刻。\n\n\n\n\n为了让大家有足够的能量参与这场玩水大战，我们PSA的成员们还为大家准备了冰淇淋和小零食，可以好好的休息调整一下。\n\n\n\n\n真实超级繁忙的一天——满满的快乐、欢笑和难忘的瞬间！🎈🍦💦🔫🫧

Entering the knockout stage as the top seed\, AXIS won their semifinal on penalties before defeating their opponents by one goal in the final. The boys gave their all on the court\, pouring in their blood\, sweat\, and tears and showing incredible determination and effort throughout the tournament. \nAlthough they finished in fourth place\, they demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship by staying to cheer for the team that earned first place. DESCRIPTION:After the PYP Exhibition (PYPX) was completed\, Grade 5 students invited the entire Primary School to gather in the auditorium and celebrate their PYPX achievements together. Grade 5 students took the stage to reflect on their PYPX learning journey. They shared their favorite parts of the process\, as well as the challenges and difficulties they faced along the way. It was a special occasion for students to express their real feelings about preparing for and presenting their projects. \nAfter the sharing session\, all Grade 5 students went on stage to receive medals in recognition of their achievements in PYPX. They also expressed their appreciation to their mentors\, who supported them throughout their projects in both academic and non-academic areas. \nPYPX marks an important milestone in their growth. Students\, teachers\, staff\, and parents from across the whole school community were invited to gather and mark this meaningful moment together. \nDuring the Promotion Ceremony\, principals\, homeroom teachers\, and learning partners took the stage to share their heartfelt reflections. Their words captured the complex emotions of the day—excitement\, pride\, gratitude\, and the bittersweet feeling of saying goodbye. Our KG students also shared their dreams for the future. Their innocence\, kindness\, and thoughtful reflections left a deep impression on all of us. \nDuring the Graduation Ceremony\, our Head of School\, Mr. Bill\, delivered his congratulations and highlighted that our Grade 12 students were the second graduating class in the history of our school\, making this moment truly special for all of us. \nOur graduate representative\, Maggie\, then stepped onto the stage and shared her learning journey at AXIS—a story of courage\, care\, growth\, and gratitude.
