Celebrating Tradition and Culture 中秋主题周

This week, the AXIS campus was filled with the festive spirit of the Mid-Autumn Festival. Students across all grade levels explored Chinese culture through hands-on activities, creative projects, and meaningful discussions.

Festival Day Highlights
On the festival day, students participated in chess matches, kicked shuttlecocks, composed Mid-Autumn poems, and made mooncakes, turning the celebration into a lively campus-wide event. The cultural booths encouraged collaboration and gave students insight into how the Mid-Autumn Festival was celebrated in ancient China.

Minnan “Bobing” Tradition
The Minnan dice game, Bobing, brought tremendous energy and excitement to the event, with the sounds of tumbling dice and cheers filling the air. Students not only experienced a unique Minnan custom from Xiamen but also learned the value of sharing joy and celebrating together as a community.

Classroom Cultural Learning
Throughout the week, Chinese lessons focused on Mid-Autumn traditions. Students created lanterns, collages, paper-cuttings, and bamboo weavings, using their creations to decorate the campus with a festive atmosphere. They also learned festival-related Chinese characters and discussed regional customs, deepening their understanding of cultural diversity and their own heritage.
