In Grades 6-12, students follow the AXIS Secondary Program, an inquiry and standards-based curriculum program. AXIS is currently offering College Board Advanced Placement classes.

Grades 9-12 AXIS Secondary Program with College Board Advanced Placement

Graduation Requirements for Grades 9-12


Four years of attendance in Grades 9-12 and 25 credits are required for an AXIS diploma. To earn a diploma from AXIS, a student normally attends Grades 9-12 and must earn a minimum of 25 units of credit, distributed as follows:

Humanities- English 4 credits Four consecutive years of English is required.
Humanities- Social Studies/Science 3 credits Three years are required.
Mathematics 4 credits Four consecutive years of Math is required.
Science 3 credits Three years including one year lab-based science. Four years are recommended.
World/Acquired Language 3 credits Three years of Chinese Language or other world language.
Visual Arts and/or Performing Arts 2 credits Two year of visual arts and/or performing arts.
PE 2 credits Required in Grades 9 and 10. Four years recommended.
Community Participation in required community programming, including advisory, library, social, emotional learning (SEL), community time, Week Without Walls, and assemblies.
Required Credits 21 credits
Electives Minimum 4 credits Electives are based on career pathways which students decide by working with the College & Career Counselor.
